About Amangalla
Amangalla occupies one of the oldest buildings in Galle Fort: its oldest part dates from 1684, when it was built for the Dutch commanders, and from the 1860s, for about 140 years, it was the New Oriental Hotel. Aman restored it in the 2000s with polished teak floors, four-poster beds and a long verandah where afternoon tea is served, and added The Baths, its bathhouse and spa.
