About Horton Plains National Park and World’s End
Horton Plains is a high, cool plateau of grassland and cloud forest, part of the UNESCO-listed Central Highlands of Sri Lanka. A loop walk of about 9–10 km leads to World’s End, where the escarpment drops away for hundreds of metres, and to Baker’s Falls. Start at dawn: by late morning the mist usually rolls in and hides the view. Plastic is restricted in the park, and it is cold early in the morning, so bring a warm layer.
