About Udawattakele Forest Reserve
Udawattakele, once the royal forest of the Kandyan kings, covers the hill behind the Temple of the Tooth. Paths lead through tall trees with birds and monkeys, a cool break from the town. Pay the entry fee at the gate and stay on the marked trails.
