About Choosing a safari
Safaris in the national parks are made in jeeps with licensed drivers, and a park tracker from the Department of Wildlife Conservation joins each vehicle. Book through your hotel or lodge, or a reputable operator, and ask for a driver who keeps to speed limits, does not chase or crowd animals and switches off the engine at sightings. Morning and late-afternoon drives see the most wildlife. Check park opening times and any seasonal closures with the Department of Wildlife Conservation.
