Kandyan dance shows

About Kandyan dance shows
Kandyan dance, with its drummers, acrobatic leaps and elaborate silver costumes, is the dance of the old Kandyan court and of the Esala Perahera. Several halls near the lake stage a show for visitors each evening, including the Kandy Lake Club and the Red Cross hall (Kandyan Art Association) near the Temple of the Tooth. Shows last about an hour in the early evening and usually end with fire-walking and fire-eating. Tickets are sold at the door; start times vary by venue and season, so check locally on the day, and arrive early for a good seat.
