About Negombo lagoon
Negombo sits at the mouth of a large lagoon, busy with outrigger canoes and fishing boats and edged with mangroves full of birds. A boat trip of an hour or two at sunrise or late afternoon shows the fishing villages, the lagoon islands and the old Dutch canal. Agree the price and the length of the trip before you set off.
