About Delft island

Delft (Neduntheevu) is the farthest of the inhabited islands, reached by ferry from Kurikadduwan jetty. Its landscape of coral-stone walls, palmyra palms and wild ponies feels like nowhere else in Sri Lanka. Hire a tuk-tuk or van at the jetty to see the ponies, the giant baobab and the ruins of the Dutch fort. Ferries are limited and depend on the weather: leave Jaffna early and check the return times.
