About Kayman’s Gate and the old lighthouse
Kayman’s Gate, at the end of Main Street in Pettah, is a small bell tower from the Dutch period, when a gate here led to the fort. In the Fort, the old Colombo lighthouse on Chatham Street doubles as a clock tower. Both are easy stops on a walking tour of the historic city.
